About This Scholarship

The HEC Coastal Region Scholarship is a targeted initiative empowering the youth of Balochistan's coastal belt (Gwadar, Lasbela, Kech, and Awaran). If you have completed your Matric and Inter from these districts, you can receive up to PKR 240,000 annually for tuition, plus a generous PKR 15,000 monthly stipend. This program is designed to remove geographical barriers, allowing you to study at top HEC-recognized public or private universities across Pakistan without worrying about relocation or tuition costs.

Scholarship Benefits & Coverage

• Tuition Fee: Up to PKR 240,000 per year (covers almost all public & many private universities)
• Monthly Stipend: PKR 15,000 per month (Living Allowance)
• Book & Travel Allowance: PKR 30,000 per annum
• Hostel Support: PKR 5,000 per month (paid only if university hostel is unavailable)

Eligibility Criteria

  Domicile: Must possess Domicile/Local from Gwadar, Lasbela/Hub, Kech (Turbat), or Awaran.

  Education Origin (Strict Rule): Must have completed *BOTH* Matric (SSC) and Intermediate (HSSC) from an institute located INSIDE these specific districts.

  Academic Marks: Minimum 50% marks in both SSC and HSSC.

  Age Limit: Maximum 22 years on the closing date.

  Admission: Must secure admission on merit in any HEC recognized public or private university.

  Exclusion: Students who studied in Karachi, Quetta, or other cities (even if they have the correct domicile) are INELIGIBLE.

How to Apply – Step by Step

   Sign up on the HEC Scholarship Portal (scholarship.hec.gov.pk).

   Select 'Coastal Region Higher Education Scholarship' from the dashboard.

   Pay the PKR 500 application fee via 1Link/1Bill Invoice (Consumer ID generated in the portal).

   Submit the online form. (Do NOT send hard copies initially).

   Prepare for the HEC Aptitude Test (HAT) conducted by ETC (Weightage: 50% Test, 50% Academics).
